About
Little Raccoon Creek Farm
Our Farm
Farming since 2018
Welcome to Little Raccoon Creek Farm and the Lowell family! We are situated on 40 acres of lush farm ground in Bloomington, Indiana. Little Raccoon Creek tributary begins on our farm. This gives the low lands natural watercourse for livestock and wildlife. This journey began in 2009, with Brandon, a transplant from Illinois moving to Bloomington and marrying Leslie. We ran a custom baling business until acquiring the farm in 2018. August was born in February of 2021, and will be the second generation of the farm. At age 3, he is already enjoying the farm life by caring for the livestock, collecting eggs, and helping dad work on and operate machinery.

The Barns
The barns were built from the previous owner, around 1967. They were milled from native timber off of the farm itself. As the previous owner got up in years, others helped to run the cattle operation at the farm, but the barns and fence were in disrepair. After obtaining the farm, our vision was to restore the rustic heritage with board and batten siding, repairing rotted posts, and new roofs. To this day, the barns are still a work in process, but the vision is there to keep restoring them, while keeping their original integrity.
